MOSAIC at Chatham Park is reaping the rewards of thriving bee colonies. An end-of-summer honey bottling event yielded 100 lb. of honey, a substantial increase from the 80 lb. produced in 2024.
MOSAIC’s three branded beehives, easily seen from Hwy 15-501, complement the five hives and 225+ species of bee-friendly trees, flowers and grasses at the Chatham Park Water Recovery Center. This pollinator utopia is part of a larger effort to combat bee population decline and help bees fulfill their important role in our local ecosystem.
MOSAIC’s honeybees were raised just south of Pittsboro at Rocky River Bee Farm by EAS Certified Master Beekeeper Jody Moore. He works to nurture hardy bee colonies and prepare them for relocation throughout Central NC.
The bees of the MOSAIC beehives and the Chatham Park pollinator garden have proven to be some of Chatham Park’s most valuable residents, providing not only delicious honey and community enrichment but critical ecological diversity.
MOSAIC is a Lee-Moore Capital Company development.
